What are your favorite things about being a New Yorker?
My favorite thing is that I am never bored! The City is so diverse with many different styles, cultures and backgrounds, you can always be yourself and there are always new things to do, see & try. I will always forever be a New Yorker, bringing the lifestyle wherever I go, and has allowed me to be different than the typical preppy at Bucknell.
How would you describe the "New York style."
The city is very fast paced, upbeat, edgy, chic, trendy and unique. (Note: Probably one of the only places that it's completely acceptable to wear six inch heels, I have no idea how you manage it so well)
As the biggest food connoisseur I know, (check out her Instagram @bucknellfoodie and @new_fork_city) I have to ask, the top five places to eat in The City?
// Tao // Their signature dessert is a giant fortune cookie that is filled with chocolate mouse.
42 E 58th St NY, NY (212) 888-2288
// T-Bar // It is my go-to restaurant if I want a great steak and their mac and cheese is to die for.
1278 3rd Ave NY, NY (212) 772-0404
// Serafina// Always the restaurant I recommend to tourists first. The penne ala vodka and rosemary focaccia bread are my favorites.
2178 Broadway, NY, NY (212) 595-0566
// Quality Italian // Their chicken parmesan comes out looking like a giant pizza. I was so confused the first time I went. Easily some of the best chicken parmesan I have ever had.
57 W 57th St, NY, NY (212) 390-1111
// Normas // The best brunch place in NYC. They have Nutella stuffed pancakes and a chocolate peanut butter waffle topped with ice cream.
119 W 56th St, NY, NY (212) 708-7460
Favorite Things to do in New York
{one} Checking out the cool boutiques in Soho
{two} Running in Central Park
{three} Riding in a taxi cab, I guess?
{four} Showing my out of town friends the city and exploring new places that no one knows about as well as trying new restaurants and promoting them on my NYC food Instagram.
Well, there you go! From someone who hasn't been to the city in four years, I am definitely hoping to make it out in the upcoming months. Thanks so much Alexa and Happy Thursday!
