Bikes, Books & Rain Boots

Today was a very exciting day in the life of any college student, as I finally got my bike! I have wanted one of these cruisers forever and got it sent as a birthday gift from my wonderful parents. So naturally after hearing it had come in the mail, I got Katy to come with me to the mail room and an hour later after two tool kits and multiple expletives, we put it together.

Of course naturally I had to document this day by taking the bike out onto my dorm roof...I'm gonna miss this place next year (it's perfect for taking pictures without having to actually be in public). I don't care that it may be the most typical girl bike in the entire world, I rode it downtown and could not have been happier. Of course I also couldn't resist filling up the basket with some of my favorite things this month (especially the colorful birthday card from my Grandma with the bike!)

There it is- a rare picture of the author herself. In addition, I wanted to put together one of my favorite dresses and overall looks. A rainy take on a typical Super Saturday outfit, I have re fallen in love with jean jackets. I used to absolutely hate them, and am still getting used to the stiffness, but they really work (I know my mother is beaming right now, but it did not work in 3rd grade, so sorry).

This dress was a complete bargain from Forever 21 and is the softest thing I have ever worn. Not bad for $12. It also started raining while doing this, hence the umbrella.
These rain boots were a high school graduation present (thanks Schindlers!) and I absolutely love them and can't wait to wear them more for spring and summer. Definitely a nice change from black.
