True Confession- I am not in this photo. It's a friend's hall, but I am in love with it! |
Today is the day. Classes and crew is over and I am packing up my Jeep and heading back home to Arlington. Part of me is so excited to get back home, but the other part of me can't believe it's over. I could probably write a never ending post of all the stories and thoughts that I have, but I'm going to try and cut it short. Here's a wrap up of my first year.
Classes: American Politics (favorite class), Plants People and the Environment, American History, Quantitative Reasoning for Management (nightmares), Sociology, Econ, Foundation Seminar on Ancient Roman Lit, Management Seminar, Education
Some of my favorite memories this year were Fall Fest, Buckwild, late night Caf runs, and countless registers/super Saturdays. I am so thankful for all the amazing people that I had the privilege of meeting and some I call my best friends. I also got to compete on an amazing Division I team as a varsity member my first year. In addition, after going back and forth for years, I finally got the chance to find the right time to make one of my biggest dreams come true in daily blogging.
I certainly had my fair share of mistakes and mess ups, perhaps more than I wished, but I also learned so much and had so many wonderful moments- and a lot more naps. In addition, going to a liberal arts school, I felt that so much of what I learned in classes not only intersected with one another, but also could be used in everyday life. Some lessons I learned summed up...
Get out of your comfort zone. Don't waste time on negativity. Accept and learn from mistakes. Be there for others. Everything will challenge you-so the things you love. And be thankful for everything you have in your life.
Here's to a great first year and many more amazing memories ahead and congrats to the Bucknell Class of 2014!
P.S. I know I tried before, but now that I have more time with summer, expect posts to go up 3 AM EST/12 AM PST
