5 Ways in 5 Minutes

5 Things

To know me is to know a procrastinator. Honestly, I don't know if it's the rush that I get doing something at the last minute, but I always seem to be putting things off, even when they are simple. A couple of weeks ago, I came across a quote that read: "if you have something that will take less than 5 minutes that will make your life easier, then do it and you will appreciate it later." I started doing this with charging my phone (which always seems to be dead when you're headed out the door) and it's been working well. Here are some really simple ways that I am going to try and utilize 5 minutes, hopefully you find them useful in your life too.

Pick out clothes the night before This is definitely taken from the book of Elizabeth Sheehy (my mom). I started doing it for morning practice on Saturdays and probably saved 15 minutes every morning.

Get up and charge your electronics This is the thing that I have done the most with this tip- definitely recommend.

Put keys in a safe place I CANNOT stress this one enough for my own sake. I lost my keys and ID 434830264820 times last year and it was THE MOST annoying thing in the world (it also took forever each time, when 99.5% of the time it was behind my bed). Finding a safe place to put it will save you time and a lot of energy.

Put clothes in a laundry hamper I read somewhere that when faced with the daunting task of having to clean your room, the first two things you should do are make your bed and pick your clothes off the floor. Doing laundry takes more than 5 minutes, but there is nothing better than having clean clothes (and nothing worse than wanting to wear something and realizing it's dirty).

Write out a "To Do" list I am definitely someone who works well with a schedule (which explains my need for 8 ams everyday). To do lists are great for making the most of your day.

Hope some of these were helpful! Happy Thursday!
