Wednesday Thoughts: The Power of a Compliment




The other day I couldn't sleep and was up late at night watching YouTube videos (am I the only one that does this?). In this night owl routine, I came across an old video talking about compliments and the impact that small kind words can have on individuals. She asked (the audience, camera or whatever) how often do you actually tell people that you appreciate them and why don't we express this more? 

I completely agree that you never really know the power of a compliment. Getting a compliment can completely change your day or your entire perspective on someone and giving one feels just as good, if not better. To quote the great Maya Angelou"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

Over the past few weeks, I have been trying to implement this more and actually tell people when I like their outfit or do something amazing, and you know what? I have never felt better. Seriously in a world filled with darkness, it won't kill you to spread a little light.
