There is a great concept out there of "the six word story" where in a mere six words, the author can portray an entire array of emotion.
One of the most famous examples comes from Hemingway. "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." I found an entire site that has some amazing poems that really show the power of language (inner English major coming out in full swing here). I was really shocked reading how clever some of these are. A few of my favorites:
Painfully, he changed "is" to "was."
Born a twin; Graduated an only child
Strangers. Friends. Best friends. Lovers. Strangers.
