When I heard that we were going to be going to Amsterdam as a class, I honestly didn't know what to expect. The only thing I really knew about the city was from The Fault in Our Stars (sad, but the truth). Pulling away from the Paris train station after an amazing four days, I felt like we had reached the highlight of the trip.

I could not have been more wrong. Amsterdam is absolutely gorgeous. While London, Paris and Rome have a breathtaking aesthetic, there is something about Amsterdam that feels very homey. The canals are breathtaking, especially with the leaves in yellow, the people are friendly and the language barrier isn't much of an issue since most people seem to speak English (and I learned far less Dutch before the trip than I am willing to admit). It's also extremely walkable, though keep an eye out for the hundreds of thousands of bikes everywhere in city.

Have a great weekend!
